** It’s a hot and humid day in Windsor Ontario Canada with a light breeze the only relief. The sun is shining high with only a few light clouds here and there. With covid restrictions being lessened more people are leaving their homes and going out an about. Some with masks still on and some without. Down on the Riverwalk we see a towering figure leaning on the metal railing. He is wearing black and grey camo cargo pants, and a black muscle shirt. His arms look to be the size of tree trunks. He has long black hair that hangs just past his shoulders tied in a pony with a black leather hair strap with what appear to be Viking runes carved into them. Light whisps of gray can be seen at the base and around the ear line. As the camera pans around to the front his long goatee hangs past his chin normally jet black now adorned spots of gray as well. The tell-tale scars running diagonal across his face reveal the man to be none other than the monster known as Diablo. He looks out across the open water as a ferry boat slowly creeps past and pulls a leatherbound flask from his back pocket and takes a sip from it. The big man lets out a satisfied sigh as he places the flack back in his pocket.
Suddenly a black sedan with blacked out windows pulls into one of the parking spots. The door opens and a young man in a black suit steps out. His eyes hidden a pair of dark black sunglasses. He looks around and taps a few times on his cell phone and then heads towards Diablo. The big man looks over his shoulder and sees him approaching and then turns back looking out over the water. **
Man: I’ve been looking for you for some time now. You’re a hard man to track down lately.
** The man is black cautiously approaches. Diablo’s reputation for violent outbursts is well known to anyone trying to track him down. **
Diablo: And yet here I am.. You finally found me… With most things still shut down or closed off it really wasn’t going to be that hard… Should I put you in for a fu****g medal or something?
Man: I hardly need a medal. I’m just doing my job.
Diablo: That job includes following me around constantly? What the hell do you want. Make it fast!
Man: Some of it yes and my client was hoping for an update on…. Her..
** Diablo turns to face the man in the suit. His icy cold stare can be felt by anyone who walked past. **
Diablo: Your client… Why don’t you come out and say his name already.
Man: Normally that would not be a problem, but I am being paid a good amount to keep his name out of the public right now.
** The big man lets out a low growl under his breath **
Diablo: And he couldn’t just come to me directly? After all these years?? After all the blood we shed together… I’m almost offended by that!
Man: I can understand that. My client is trying to keep a low profile after recent events.
** A low chuckle escapes Diablos lips as he reaches for his flask again and takes a quick sip **
Diablo: The tabloids must be going crazy right now..
Man: You have no idea..
Diablo: Knowing your “Client” for as long as I have, I think I have a pretty good idea actually. And I also know that your “client” will be just fine. Throwing enough money to make a problem go away is what he does best…
Man: Quite right sir. Now about that update. I don’t want to keep my client waiting too long for the report.
** Diablo takes another quick slug from his flask and wipes away few drips from his mouth **
Diablo: Tell your client that she is doing just fine.
Man: That’s pretty vague could you elaborate?
Diablo: She’s a rising star in Japan right now. She was also a pretty dominant force in Mexico too. Is that elaborate enough for you?
Man: I see. How often do you check in on her?
Diablo: Since your client cut her off from everything she has had to adapt to survive and is thriving. I told your client that I would look after her and make sure she is safe… From a distance that is. I stay out of it unless absolutely necessary, which has only happened a few times.
Once I get through destroying my opponent this week I will head back that way to see how things are going. She has a match at the end of the month. I will try and record some of it for your client to see… But I’m sure he will be more than capable of finding it on social media if he looks hard enough.
Man: Do you even know who you will be facing this week?
Diablo: It doesn’t really matter. Whoever they want to throw at me I will have begging me for mercy, which will never happen. I should have walked out of Up From the Ashes as the top contender to the heavyweight title but I got slopy. Something that will never happen again. This next match there will be no mistakes, and there will be no mercy. This next match will be a guaranteed blood bath. I think this conversation is over now. Go and run along to your “client” and fill him in.
** The young man nods and turns and heads back to his car. Diablo finishes the contents of the flask turns it upside down and several drops hit the ground. He closes the lid puts it back into his pocket and continues to walk along the Riverwalk as the scene fades out. **
