Chapter 4: Tag-Team Turmoil
The first WFWF Friday Night Intensity has come and gone, with plenty of action, moments, and even announcements made. Two names mentioned wanting matches against the Uprising at the next show, Orange Bullet Junior representing 2 Colorful, and the Army of Pain. Within mere moments, both their wishes are granted, as we get to see what’s been labelled as ‘Tag-Team Turmoil’, with a few other teams mentioned in the mix competing to see who truly is the best of the best in the WFWF.
Both Collins and Babylon are walking around Washington, DC at night, soaking in the scenery as they reflect on what’s to come at the Bender Arena.
Michael Babylon: Uprising, a revolt, a revolution. An act of resistance or rebellion...such a fitting name with the tragic moments that came 6 months ago here, don’t you think, Gabriel?
Gabriel Collins: I never thought I’d live to see the day our nation would witness people attempt to revolt against authority.
Michael Babylon: Being born in the UK, you must not know the history of rebellion here. I'll have to explain all the uprisings in the United States over the last 120 or so years...a lot of them have come to change the shape of our society...but enough about that. You managed to beat Juno Mantoid last week, yet another setback for those 2 Colorless losers.
Gabriel Collins: Looking back at history, EVERYONE’S beaten him before though, so it’s no shock there. Hell, his nephew went and whined to Tyler McKnight about every damn thing. I swear, this kid is still the cocky, whiny prick he was in NWR 3 years ago. And now, he has to face us in another tag match. We need to end this pathetic attempt by them to beat us once and for all.
Michael Babylon: He just doesn’t learn. It’s the same way with the Army of Dingleberries. Height and weight may be intimidating, but they aren’t that talented, at least not nowadays. Pete put Pain in his place, Bludd still looks to be the name he was years ago, but can’t reach those levels.
Gabriel Collins: We’ll dispose of them, and we’ll take care of those Dymond Club idiots too. All the glitz, all the money, all the arrogance they have, won’t matter in the end.

Scene: We catch some highlights from the 1st WFWF Intensity, which featured a Cross Words segment that the Army of Pain partook in. Some words were obviously mentioned that shook the cages of both Pain and Bludd, as both men are steaming from this. We also see a highlight of the announcement of a Tag-Team Turmoil match, which gets the crowd going. Next up, we see the boys in a darkened room we’ve gotten to know so well over the past few years as the ‘War Room’, so to speak.
Bludd: We got what we asked for at the upcoming show...we get to face the Uprising, we even get to taste 2 Colorful for the first time. But there’s one thing I don’t understand in all of this...what does the missing GM think he’s doing by putting other teams into the fray?
Pain: I find it truly odd that he makes this match, then is flat on his face a short while later, Bludd. The Dymond Club? We know how cheap and low-class those tacky fools can be, as successful as they are. Mantis and Blue Devil? I truly wonder what THEY did to be involved. Same with Roach and Gutter, what the hell is going on in THAT scenario?
Bludd: They’re friends of Roadpig, so they wanted to get one more shot in.
Pain: I COULD CARE LESS! I’m also hearing that we have the opportunity to take on other unknown names as well. Possibly debuting faces, some has-beens, trainees to beat up too...I just want to get my hands on those crafty fucks, the Uprising.
Bludd: You and me both. I respect Orange Bullet, I respect Juno Mantoid, but Orange Bullet, Junior? He seems like he has no respect at all for anyone. Hell, just watch how he goes about business, almost like he wants to break free.
Pain: Remember in that other fed that shall not be named? He came in to replace his father as a last-minute substitute, won the TV Title, then got too damn cocky for his own good? He acts like he still hasn’t learned.
Bludd: He hasn’t. I feel sorry for Juno though, as he has to deal with it. Hell, he has to deal with Michael Eden in his ear, and we remember the war those two had ages ago.
Pain: After this, I want my rematch against that idiot, Pete Falco. He’ll finally find out what it’s like to lose to me.
Scene: Fade to black.

INT.DYMOND CLUB LOUNGE- NIGHT
The view over New York City is as breathtaking as always. MAX stands on the balcony looking over his city in ponderous observation. Max leans on the railing looking down at the ant like people below.
LACEY (O.S.) Don’t jump Max.
Max turns from the rail and sees LACEY step onto the penthouse balcony. The bright moon makes her evening gown glisten.
MAX Not in this lifetime kid.
LACEY You’ve been quiet lately Max.
MAX We were close. We were DAMN close.
LACEY We will be again.
MAX I know. I know. It’s just that, after making such a strong stand at Ashes...we could have had this entire company in the palm of our hands after two shows.
LACEY It’s all good Max. We’re still standing. Standing TALL I might add.
MAX Vincent let me down.
LACEY Vincent had to survive Fang...TWICE.
MAX Yeah, it’s the only reason I haven’t fired him. I know Fang. Only too well.
Max rubs his ribs out of instinct when thinking back to sharing a ring with the ‘Manimal’.
MAX Where are the boys? Do they know about their match?
LACEY Studying. Training. You know them.
MAX (chuckling) Yeah, I know them.
INT.DC TRAINING ROOM- SAME TIME Grunts can be heard off screen as the camera dollys through the gym. None of the equipment is being used and finally the frame settles on a couch and two big screens set up at the end of the gym where VINCENT and JOHNNY are playing Apex Legends.
VINCENT One squad left!
JOHNNY Up high. High!
VINCENT Watch out. Kraber in play!
JOHNNY Oh that was close. He nearly peeled my skull back.
VINCENT Grav lift Johnny!
JOHNNY Gas gas gas!
On screen Johnny uses Horizon to lift Vincent’s Caustic to throw a gas grenade at the sniper. The sniper bails from the nest allowing Johnny to riddle the unsuspecting Revenant with bullets. Vincent finds the sniper’s Wraith partner in the gas and lays them out with a spitfire. Suddenly the words “Apex Champions” appear on screen. Johnny and Vincent fist bump.
VINCENT Third straight dub.
JOHNNY Yeah, but Duos is pretty much easy mode. The screen recaps their stats before taking them back to the lobby. They both look at a CAMERA set up between the screens.
VINCENT That was a good match.
JOHNNY For those of us just joining us on the Diamond Club Twitch stream we have been showing you the beautiful but unorthodox dynamic of Horizon and Caustic as a team. People don’t expect these two to be a good combination but here we are. Nothing but wins.
VINCENT That’s the thing about unlikely combinations. Sometimes, like in the case of Caustic and Horizon, they end up being complimentary.
JOHNNY Which makes them dangerous.
VINCENT Let’s go to the chat and see what’s happening there. Both men pull out tablets and start scanning over the comments.
JOHNNY ‘RealBully’ asks. What is your favorite combination of guns in the new meta?
VINCENT The R-400 is still a solid line up even now, but the Eva is smacking hard if you have a good shotgun bolt.
JOHNNY Agreed. ‘LegDropKing’ asks...why aren’t you in the gym preparing for your match?
VINCENT Ha...jokes on you LDK. We ARE in the gym.
JOHNNY And if getting in sync with your partner isn’t training for a match then I don’t know what is.
VINCENT Being able to call out spots and opponents is just as relevant in the ring as it is on the battlefield.
JOHNNY One of the keys to our success as a team is our constant communication. Verbal and non verbal cues are important to racking up wins.
VINCENT Next up...’AoPFan’ asks, “How will losing to the Army of Pain feel?”
JOHNNY Bad. It would feel really bad. I’m just so happy it’s not going to be something we have to ever experience.
VINCENT I agree.
JOHNNY Are there any gaming relating questions? This is starting to feel too much like work.
VINCENT Yeah yeah. ‘SonOfPathfinder’ asks, “If the Uprising played Apex, who would be their mains?”
JOHNNY Rampart and Fuse. All day.
VINCENT Agreed. Decent picks early on but neither have the abilities to close out a match unless you’re in a very very specific situation.
JOHNNY Kind of a cheat question there. Well, we’re going to end the stream for now and go hit the machines and study some tape. Who knows? Maybe later we’ll get Lacey to saddle up for some Trios.
VINCENT Tape of our opponents right.
JOHNNY (side eyed) Yeah. Wrestling footage. Not Apex footage.
VINCENT Maybe both?
JOHNNY We can do both. We have two TVs!
Johnny and Vincent high five as the Twitch stream comes to an end.

Everyone in WFWF are feeling the effects of the last episode of Intensity. A new champion, in Fang was crowned, and rifts in several relationships seem to be forming. Now, the tag teams are getting their opportunity to show their stuff in hopes of reviving that division. One team, with a precarious feel to it, is 2 Colorful, consisting of a son of a legend and hall of famer, Orange Bullet Jr, his uncle, the King of Jobbers, Juno Mantoid, and a man who reemerged at 'Up from the ashes' after nearly 20 plus years of being missing in action, Michael Eden.
Resident reporter, Candy Appel, is on the job outside of town. She catches the trio at their training center.
"Excuse me, but could I have a word with you for a minute?" Eden waves her over to where he is standing.
Eden: "Hello, pretty lady, you must be the new interviewer! Its great to be of your acquaintance! (Kisses her on the hand)
Candy: "Yessir! As you are aware, the next Intensity, there will be a tag team bedlam match, featuring many tag teams, past, present, and future! Which teams are you more concerned about than others and do you have a strategy for winning?"
Eden: "Well, first of all, there's not a team out there, who concerns my team of Jr and Juno! I believe 2 Colorful can....WILL win this bedlam, hands down! I am, however, familiar with most of the men on some of those teams! There's Pain, for example, there's a guy who's tall, built like a train, and powerful! But who defeated Pain for the WFWF championship? Yours truly! Aah, yes, that brings back memories!"
Candy: "Yes, I have reviewed some old cds and that match is a classic, but, Mr Eden, you won't be competing in that match, your friends, Juno and Jr are!"
Eden: "True, very true! I am confident that 2 Colorful, will walk out of the building that evening, ready to be champions!"
Candy: "Mr. Eden, I'm very curious about something. Why did you return to WFWF after all these years?"
Eden: "Why? Good question! I'm not sure, really....unfinished business, really! There are a few guys on the roster who need to be brought down a notch or two!!"
Just then, Bullet Jr and Juno Mantoid appear and begin their business.
OBJ: "Hey, there, Candy,....you owe me a date, young lady!"
Candy: "I don't think so, besides, what would Evie Spoons say about that?"
Junior: "Hey, she doesn't own me, nobody does, understand? Anyhow, lets discuss our big tag team match coming up, shall we?"
Candy: "Yes, lets do that and that only! Junior Bullet, which team are you the most concerned with?"
OBJ: "Well, if I had to choose the team who might give us the hardest time, it would be The Dymond Club!! I mean, I respect them, I do! They're young, like me, they;re skilled and athletic like me, and they are the future of WFWF, like me! We've all three tasted gold in the past, and in due time, we shall again! I believe though that Intensity will be the night for 2 Colorful, right Juno, old boy?"
Juno: "Old? Who you calling old, sonny? Hahaha! Oh, Candy, did you know that my stocks in Dr. Pepper have gone up?"
Candy: "No, congratulations! Anywho, back to my questions! Juno, there's lots of concern from fans and your peers alike, that you and your nephew are on the verge of a split! Would that be a fair deduction?"
Juno: "You are being paranoid, trust me, I know paranoid! Hahahaha!! Now, my team to beat at Intensity would be Gabriel Collins and company aka The Uprising! I think they are the team to watch out for....but we can take hem, I think!!"
OBJ: "You think, you think?" What's the matter with you, uncle Juno? I know we can take them, in fact, we will win this bedlam match and walk out the best team!!"
Candy: "Guys, I have one more question and this concerns Junior! Jr. who was the fan boy who came to your father's aid after his loss of the World title?"
OBJ: "Oh, him? He's just another Orange Bullet groupie who has been following my family around for awhile now, no one to be worried about!!"
Candy: "Well, that's it for me! Anything else you fellas want to say before we cut the feed?"
Eden: "At Intensity, 2 Colorful will prevail and then everyone will see who the next World tag team champions are!! Have a good day!!"
Fade to static------
